This year, for Zine Month, I’m running my first ever Kickstarter. It’s for a game called “Me, the Singularity“, and it’s a TTRPG adaptation of Supercircuit‘s visual novel of the same name.

Me, the Singularity is a ghost story in space, about the crew of a space station haunted by an extradimensional entity. The “ghost” is actually a parallel universe version of one of the other characters, attempting to warn them of an impending catastrophe.
In game, one player embodies the ghost, and tries to communicate vital information that can save their friends. Unfortunately, they have severe restrictions on when and how they can communicate, initially only being able to send Omens (Charades) as specific points during the game. Meanwhile, the rest of the crew are getting to know each other better, playing a collaborative hand management game of trading cards to get matching values. When the cards match, the crew learn something profound about themselves or their friends – becoming more empathetic, and unlocking new ways for the ghost to communicate, like Visions (Pictionary), Disturbances (Hangman), or Whispers.
Supercircuit and I are producing a zine version of the RPG, making liberal use of the beautiful assets created for the original visual novel. I’m so excited for what we’re putting together, but also nervous because I’ve never run a crowdfunding campaign before! The best thing we can do to ensure the campaign is successful is get a nice, strong start, so that it’ll rise to the top of Kickstarter’s algorithmic dogpile.
To that end, if you think you might be interested in backing the campaign, please give us a follow. That way, you’ll be the first to know when the campaign goes live on Thursday 1st February. If you can’t afford to back right now, then letting your roleplaying friends know about the game is also extremely useful.
Wish me luck!
